Subject

Description

This promotional cookbook was created to help housewives create healthy meals in a time of heavy rationing during WWII. Many ingredients were to be left out, substituted or stretched. "It is the patriotic job of every wife and mother to keep her household well, well nourished, well prepared for the strain of extra work and wartime worries."

Recipes were compiled by Demetria Taylor, a home economics consultant, and the rules for cleaning were prepared by the staff of Lysol Disinfectant.
